King Charles Confronts Protest Concerning His Brother's Jeffrey Epstein Links

During a visit to a cathedral in Staffordshire on the start of the week, the King was shouted at by a man who questioned him about Prince Andrew's links with convicted sex offender Epstein.

The man asked how long the monarch had been aware about his brother's association with Epstein, and also questioned whether he had instructed the authorities to "cover up" for Andrew.

Despite the protest, there were large groups of fans and applause for the monarch, who was visiting the region for an engagement.

The Duke of York's links with Jeffrey Epstein have been under intense scrutiny in the past few weeks. The prince, who gave up his titles earlier this month, has repeatedly denied any misconduct.

"For how long have you been aware about Prince Andrew and Epstein? Did you request the police to cover up for Andrew?"

The monarch did not respond but continued meeting supporters, some of whom chanted "Long live the King". One supporter can be heard asking him for a hug.

A female bystander outside the cathedral was also heard telling the protester to "leave" and to "be quiet".

Controversy Revived by Memoir

The controversy over the Duke of York's links to Epstein has been reignited by sexual abuse allegations detailed in Ms. Giuffre's recently released memoir.

In the publication, Ms Giuffre claims she had sexual encounters with the prince on multiple times, including one instance with Jeffrey Epstein and "eight other young girls"

Andrew, who agreed to a out-of-court agreement with the plaintiff in recent years, has consistently denied any wrongdoing. In a previous interview, he told a news program he did not recall meeting Ms Giuffre "ever", and that they "did not have any sort of sexual contact."

Fresh Questions About Finances and Housing

But recently, fresh questions have been raised about how he is able to fund his lifestyle despite not being a active member of the royal family.

The disclosure that he has only ever paid a token annual rent on his Royal Lodge has heightened the scrutiny over his housing situation - even though he made large payments up front, including for renovations.

The political party said he should be summoned front of MPs to give evidence about his rental agreement of his residence.

But last Thursday, the authorities refused to give MPs time to discuss the prince's titles or his home, despite increasing calls for scrutiny.

The royal household has not issued a statement on whether Prince Andrew might relocate of his current residence - or where he might go.
